Know Your Ministers : First Batch Of Deputy Ministers Released



As Ghanaians awaits for President Akufo-Addo to name his next batch of appointees to help him steer the affairs of his second term bid, some list of Deputy Ministerial appointees has been released.

It is expected that, the President will reduce the number of Ministers in his second term after facing heavy criticism for running a huge number of Ministers in his first term in 2017.


The former Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah yesterday gave a hint that, the first batch of Ministerial appointments is likely to be out on Wednesday.

But even before the list is released, the list for Deputy Ministers is out, subject to approval by Parliament appointment Committee. Below are the list.

Bernard Okoe Boye : Deputy Minister of Health designate

Joseph Cudjoe : Deputy Minister of Energy designate

Kwaku Kwarteng : Deputy Minister of Finance designate

Alfred Obeng Boateng : Deputy Minister of Education designate

Alhassa Tampuli : Deputy Minister of Transport designate

Farouk Aliu Mahama : Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry designate

William Agyapong Quaitoo : Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture designate

George Mireku Duker : Deputy Minister of Lands And Natural Resources designate

Andrew Agyapa Mercer : Deputy Minister of Communications and information designate

Charles Owiredu : Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs designate.

According to sources at the Presidency, this is the first batch of Deputy Ministerial Appointments that will be sent to Parliament for approval.
