9 Major Tourist Site’s Discovered In Atiwa East District.

Over nine major tourist attractions have been discovered in Adasawase, a smile town in located in the Atiwa East Constituency located in the eastern Region.

On Friday 29th October 2021, Mr. Desmond Asomaning who led the District Assembly Tourist Team to discover these sites made it known to the re-elected DCE Hon. Kwabena Panyin Nkansah in a district assembly town hall meeting meeting.

He presented these sites as a response to the board as the work they have done over the year. He revealed that they forgot to pour libations when entering the forest which led them to get lost in the mountainous forest for over a period of six hours. They then called on the chief of the town who directed them as to what to do and finally the found the following sites.

1. Tini Water Falls: The Adasawase Tini Water Falls is one of the famous tourist sites in the district. Surprisingly this is highest water fall in the eastern region, the second highest in Ghana after Wli Water Falls and the second highest in West Africa. It falls from a height of 585ft. The interesting thing is that the water from the falls only comes gushing down by shouting.

2. Anaconda Palm Tree: The Anaconda Palm Tree is also a unique feature that has an interesting history. The Anaconda Palm Tree was once a normal palm tree that was felled to produce palm wine. After sometime, they discovered that the palm tree has started to grow again. A seer told them that the tree would take a different form of growth therefore they should worship the tree which will be capable of supplying all their needs.

3. 7 Bedroom Self Contain Apartment Lion’s Den: Moving further on, the discovered an underground lion’s den which surprisingly has 7 apartments which were intertwined. He further explained that to enter the den, tourists must crawl like a lion. Therefore their department has made special clothes for tourists to wear.

4. The Devil’s Cave: The devil’s cave is a 200m wide cave which is very dark. According to Mr. Asomaning, over a 1000 bulb lights cannot light the room. The history behind this cave is that the hunter who discovered this cave saw a monster who is shaped like a human who lived there. He ran to inform the chief who subsequently went to pour libation in the cave and this monster left. But the monster left some inscriptions in the cave that cannot be read and understood till now. Because of how dark the cave is, the tourist department has decided to make an art on the walls of the cave which depicts the cave’s history inside the cave to make it fascinating to tourists.

5. Bend Down To Crawl Arena: The bend down and crawl arena is the sole paths that leads to all these tourist sites. It is believed that the god of daade mountains where these sites ere discovered needs obeisance. As such each tourist who plies the road needs to bend down and crawl beneath a rock as a sign of respect to the god. below this arena is an over 100m deep valley.

6. Nsafoam: It is said that God is a very good Artist and nsafoam depicts just that. Nsafoam is a twi word that means ‘in sthe palm’. These are layers of rocks which has palmer flexion creases neatly carved on them. These rocks have the lines imprinted in the human palm on them. These rocks are the handy works of the great Artist God Almighty.

7. The Oven Cave: This is also a cave that is shaped like an oven. Locally known as Daboɔ. This oven shaped cave has the ability of holding 30 people at a time.

8. The Ship Stone: Shaped like a ship, this is a very large stone which is naturally shaped like a ship. Mr. Asomaning stressed that they tried getting a full coverage of the stone but due to its enormity they were not able to get a full coverage of the rock.

9. The Canopy Rock: Just like the umbrella rock at boti falls, this is also canopy shaped rock.

He disclosed that because of the rocky nature of the road that leads to the daade mountains, they have brought engineers who are going to construct a zipline named the early bird zipline which will carry tourist straight from the Adasawase Township to the mountains.
He then stressed that following the directive of the government to allocate some amount of money to all tourist sites in Ghana, they have also drafted a proposal to be presented to the government for their share of the cake.
